DirecTV Will Continue to Stream Sunday Ticket to Restaurants & Bars

This information has been provided by our affiliates at the National Restaurant Association.

We are pleased to share good news for restaurants and bars across the country. DIRECTV and EverPass have reached a multiyear agreement that will allow DIRECTV for Business to continue distributing NFL Sunday Ticket to commercial establishments nationwide.

Why this matters: This is a direct win for restaurant and bar operators.

Without an agreement, many businesses would have faced significant costs and operational challenges as they transitioned away from existing satellite infrastructure and onto a new streaming-only platform. For operators who rely on sports programming to drive traffic and sales, that uncertainty came at the worst possible time.

Under this agreement, restaurants and bars can continue using a reliable platform that delivers the game-day experience their guests expect, while maintaining access to the sports programming that helps bring customers through the door.

The power of restaurant advocacy: When this issue emerged, the National Restaurant Association and our state restaurant association partners immediately got to work.

Together, we engaged policymakers, convened discussions with congressional staff, elevated operator concerns in the media, and helped ensure decision-makers understood the real-world impact this change would have on restaurants and bars nationwide.

We also worked with our state association partners to bring restaurant operators directly into the conversation, including securing industry testimony before Congress. One operator's powerful firsthand account helped illustrate exactly what was at stake for restaurants, employees, and customers across the country.

Most importantly, restaurant advocates spoke up. Operators shared their stories, contacted lawmakers, and helped build awareness around an issue that threatened to increase costs and create unnecessary disruption for our industry.

What’s next? We're continuing to review the details of the agreement and will share additional information as it becomes available.

For now, this is a win worth celebrating.

In a challenging operating environment, this outcome is a reminder that advocacy works. When restaurants speak with one voice, we can deliver meaningful results for our industry.

Thank you to our state restaurant association partners, the operators who shared their experiences, and everyone who helped elevate this issue.

Together, we protected an important business tool for restaurants and bars nationwide.
